News reports and environmental campaign groups consider carbon emissions from aeroplanes to be a major contributor to global pollution. With this knowledge many of us find ourselves torn between our desire and need to travel and our growing awareness of the impact our journeys have on the environment.

At Greensmile we aim to alleviate some of the guilt associated with taking a flight. 
We offer a unique service to travellers by offsetting your flight’s carbon footprint.

We can do this quite simply by planting trees!

So let’s consider the facts: It is estimated that the average long haul flight produces 2.5 tonnes of carbon. It is also estimated that the planting and raising of one tree will remove up to 1 tonne of carbon, offsetting some of the pollution created in air travel.

Unlike other Carbon off-setting services that bamboozle you with science, we’ve decided to keep things simple. As it’s not really practical to plant half of a tree we have calculated the average carbon emissions of flights to create two tariffs, one for Short-haul flights and one for Long-haul. The two tariffs are defined simply by the amount of time you’ve spent in the air, a Short-haul flight is anything up to 3.5hrs, and Long-haul anything more than that.

TARIFF 1: To neutralise a Short-haul flight we charge a one off fee of £5 per person,
TARIFF 2: To neutralise a Long-haul flight we charge a one off fee of £20 per person. 

Greensmile will be available through travel agents and online. We’ll be accepting Paypal payments soon, in the mean time Greensmile welcomes offers of interest from companies, investors and customers who wish to use this service. Together we can make a big difference for a small price.
